Run

Kiana lay on the ground, her body trembling with exhaustion and fear. The moonlight cast an eerie glow on her face as she desperately tried to catch her breath. She knew she couldn't stay here for long. Donovan was still out there, lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

As she struggled to her feet, Kiana felt a surge of determination wash over her. She refused to let Donovan's twisted obsession consume her. With every ounce of strength she had left, she pushed herself forward, deeper into the darkness of the forest.

Hours blurred into minutes as Kiana continued to run, her heart pounding in her chest. She could hear the distant sound of sirens in the distance, a sign that someone had finally discovered her disappearance. The thought of help being on its way gave her a glimmer of hope.

But just as Kiana's hope began to rise, a piercing pain shot through her leg. She stumbled and fell, gasping in agony. Tears streamed down her face as she realized Donovan had caught up to her. He stood above her, a twisted smile on his face.

"You can't escape me, Kiana," Donovan sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "You belong to me."

Kiana's mind raced, desperately searching for a way out. Then, with an unexpected burst of adrenaline, she fought back. She kicked and screamed, using every ounce of strength she had left to defend herself. Donovan recoiled, surprised by her resistance.

Just as Kiana thought she might have a chance, a figure emerged from the darkness. It was a stranger, drawn by the commotion. He stood tall and strong, his eyes filled with determination.

"Get away from her!" the stranger commanded, his voice firm.

Donovan hesitated for a moment, assessing the situation. Realizing he was outnumbered, he disappeared into the night, leaving Kiana and the stranger alone.

Breathing heavily, Kiana looked up at her savior, gratitude filling her eyes. "Thank you," she managed to say, her voice barely a whisper.

The stranger extended a hand to help her up. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

Kiana nodded, feeling a newfound sense of strength. "I will be," she said, determination lacing her words.

Together, they made their way out of the forest, guided by the distant sirens. As they reached the edge of the woods, Kiana turned to the stranger.

"I never caught your name," she said, a faint smile playing on her lips.

He returned her smile, his eyes filled with kindness. "Call me Alex," he replied.

In that moment, Kiana knew that her journey was far from over. But with Alex by her side, she felt a glimmer of hope. She knew she had the strength to heal and find a new beinning.
